Raxola .. The true story

13 february 1978 , Brussels,4 degrees below zero.
Our job , warm up the "Ancienne Belgique", before
"The jam" .
1700 frozen fan's are waiting the London's punk icons,
Paul Weller and Steve Brooks.

So , first of all , Raxola full up the boiler.

Yke, backwards on the scene, 1968's Strat around the neck ,
first song "Thalidomide child ".
Snick on drums !!! One , two ...80 bpm - ten minutes .
LLouis , 8 strings hangstrôm bass, E/F# for a while !.

Do you say suicide , yeah , Raxola is a suicide story.
Raxola will be a business disater.
Bad choice , bad management , bad drugs , but still
author of one of the greatest Punk lp .

Six month before , Yke , LLouis and Snick recorded 13 songs at
the Swansong Studio.
Raxola leaved is mark with a very best powerfull cocktail
the self named "Raxola" lp , unsteady and improbable mixture
beetween two song writers, punk and pop ,Yke and LLouis.

Powerfull but for ever unstable , those are like
nitroglycerine, don't travel with them !!

So the lp will be growing alone , and well !!
From the 300's original copies sold in 1978, some tracks were
being download millions times , for free , of course.
No doubt , for us no best "no future".
No money , no rock , no group, it's the law.

After 30 years, some of us, would change this defeat story.

You could read, here and there , remake and embellishment
of a trite story and pretty gossips, but don't be naive
the reality is worse.

Real Punk is dead ...

That's my feeling, real punk is dead .
Punk Rock was initially an opportunity for the young musicians,
who had more energy and talent than dexterity.
I was and i'am still one of them , don't ask me great guitar's solo
or exceptionnal drums break, no more than 128 tracks mix .
All is home made , the jack of my guitars directly in the mac !!
